115.
Liars / "Be Quiet, Mt. Heart Attack!" / Drum's Not Dead / 2006
Impressionistic, creepy, and utterly hypnotic. Finally they showed that their experimental side could also be remotely listenable, unlike their previous album, They Were Wrong, So We Drowned.

114.
Juliana Theory / "Do You Believe Me?" / Love / 2003
A U2-ish piano leads a slightly emo set of lyrics that's still delivered with a bit more umph than average.

113.
Longwave / "Wake Me When It's Over" / The Strangest Things / 2003
Longwave at their most shoegaze-y-est.

112.
Garbage / "Breaking Up the Girl" / beautifulgarbage / 2001
Proved emphatically that their best days were not behind them. A newer, poppier direction that fit them just fine.

111.
Lady Gaga / "Disco Heaven" / The Fame / 2008
You can't deny she's a chunk of fun. This lives up to its title, and is completely impossible to stand still to.

110.
Mew / "Am I Wry? No" / Frengers / 2003
Intricate and soaring. It's wonderful.

109.
Bloc Party / "Flux" / Flux (Single) / 2007
This hinted heavily at the electronic direction they would soon follow on Intimacy, but it still remained the best.

108.
Amanda Palmer / "Runs in the Family" / Who Killed Amanda Palmer? / 2008
Not too different from her day job with the Dresden Dolls.

107.
The All-American Rejects / "I'm Waiting" / Move Along / 2005
Emo-tinged power pop, which I always seem to have a soft spot for.

106.
The Ting Tings / "We Walk" / We Started Nothing / 2008
Piano-driven and as jaunty as usual.

105.
Minipop / "Like I Do" / The New Hope / 2007
At times this reminds me of where Sixpence None the Richer might be today, and at other times it suggests a less histrionic, female-fronted Coldplay.

104.
Ladytron / "Fighting In Built Up Areas" / The Witching Hour / 2005
Finally delivering on the promise on the album. Dense and menacing.

103.
Charlotte Sometimes / "In Your Apartment" / Waves and the Both of Us / 2008
You have to hand it to someone who'd name themselves after an old school Cure song. Torchy and inventive.

102.
Brand New / "Jesus Christ" / The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me / 2006
A gut-wrenching progression; a song that sounds like Modest Mouse colliding with the Church and Brand New's previous album, Deja Entendu.

101.
We Are Scientists / "Ghouls" / Brain Thrust Mastery / 2008
Sounds like a robot weeping... Then exploding.
